The didUminder Corporation was granted a US Patent on March 16, 2004 for it's Smart Rx Cap and it's unique feature that allows conversion from child resistant to senior friendly, United States Patent No. 6,707,763.
The didUmed Smart Rx Cap is a replacement cap that fits standard prescription pill bottles sold in pharmacies across the nation. It has the LCD timer built in to the cap pre-programmed with an automatic start/stop switch. The timer resets and starts itself simply by screwing the cap back on the pill bottle after the pill bottle is opened. When viewed, the patient will know to the minute when he or she last took their medication dosage or needs to take their next dosage. Another very important feature is that the medication remains in its original container bearing the patient's information and dosage instructions.
